I have been going to Dr. Johnson for over 10 years, I was first diagnosed with Keratoconus when I was 15 and was referred to him by an ophthalmologist. Dr. Johnson is a Keratoconus specialist. I tried to see another doctor about 4 or 5 years ago to get a new pair of glasses (I was living somewhere else) but they were never able to fit me for glasses because of the strange nature of Keratoconus (It takes patience and the knowledge of the nature of Keratoconus to be able to find the correct prescription). After that terrible experience I went back to Dr. Johnson and was able to get glasses that helped tremendously. I have also been wearing Gas Permeable lenses for 10 years which have helped me see better than 20/20 and helped slow the progression of Keratoconus. Now I am awaiting a clinical trial for Collagen Cross-linking or CXL. The treatments slows the progression of Keratoconus and also improves vision in over 60% of the [patients] treated. After the procedure I plan to be fitted by Dr. Johnson for soft lenses for better comfort. All-in-all I would never go to another doctor for my eyes. I trust Dr. Johnson and his staff to give the best possible service to their clients.
